Dear Friends

The Presidents of the South Woden, Curtin, Belconnen and Gunghalin branches would urge you to support the Pakistan Australia Friendship Association’s appeal for aid for the victims of the South Asian earthquake that has killed up to 80,000 people in Pakistan alone and has devastated infrastructure with more than a million left homeless and thousands of schools and hospitals ruined.

Many Australian families, including some from our local community, have lost all their relatives in the earthquake while others are holding on to the hope that they were still alive but have been unable to contact them.

We have decided to coordinate the collection of cheques from Labor members, friends and families to the President’s Relief Fund for Earthquake Victim 2005 (High Commission of Pakistan).

Please dig deep for this important cause which will help fund immediate relief and long-term support to those in need including the massive reconstruction efforts that will be required across the country.

Cheques should be made out to:

“High Commission of Pakistan - President’s Relief Fund for Earthquake Victim 2005”

Please provide these cheques to one of the 4 contacts below and we will ensure that they are collated and presented to the High Commission of Pakistan.
