World XI vs Pakistan XI SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 20,
2005
Jamison Oval, Canberra hosted
today World XI (Wests/ UC Cricket Club) and Pakistan XI not only
to the Canberra's greatest cricketers but to an extraordinary
fundraising effort organized by Pakistan Australia Friendship
Association and Wests/ UC Cricket Club jointly.
Guests: Mr M. Sarfraz Khanzada, Acting High Commissioner of
Pakistan.
Mr Bill Stefaniak MLA, Deputy Leader of the Opposition, Shadow
Attorney-General, Gaming and Racing and Sport & Recreation
One-day match between the Pakistan XI team and the rest of the
world, which was watched by Australian and Pakistani audience.
Free BBQ was served.
M. Sarfraz Khanzada, Acting High Commissioner of Pakistan
presented the winning shield to WORLD XI and runner-up shield to
the Pakistan XI teams. Man of the match trophy was given to S.
Purelli for his wonderful 72 runs for WorldXI.
PAFA would like to thank Mr Derek Gould, President Western
District/University of Canberra Cricket Club, Mr. Syed Jaffery,
Director Wests/UC Cricket Club , Mr. Irfan Yousaf and their team
mates for their efforts, cooperation and their enthusiastic
spirit to make this event possible.

World XI wins
Fundraising Cricket Match
Tom Colebatch won the
toss and elected to bat first. World XI scored 258 runs in the
40 over a side match. Brett Grocott and S. Purelli top scored
with 53 and 72 NO runs respectively. In reply, Pakistan XI team
was bowled out for 184 runs, with Irfan Yousaf and Sohail Lone
top scoring with 34 and 32 runs respectively.
