PAFA invites you to attend its AGM 2009
PAFA AGM is due every Year
in the month of July, this year we had been very busy in Fundraising
Luncheon and in the preparation of upcoming PAFA function,
moreover PAFA Treasurer Usman is out of the country, therefore
we were considering to hold the AGM on the same date as of
the PAFA function date (01/08/2009) and majority of our members
were in agreement with this date. However one of our members
has insisted that PAFA AGM should only be held during the
month of July, therefore to accomodate this request we are
organising this AGM on 26 July 2009 on Sunday.

AMENDMENTS TO PAFA
CONSTITUTION,
We would also like to bring
into your notice that PAFA executive committee seeks approval
for PAFA members for the following amendments in PAFA Constitution.
Amendments
in PAFA constitution:
PAFAs most senior member Dr. Zakir Rahmani
has suggested few important amendments to the PAFA constitution
and PAFA executive committee has agreed on most of the
suggested clauses to seek approval from its members during
this Annual general meeting. Please note that Dr. Zakir
Rahmani is the only senior member and Ex PAFA President
in ACT who has been involved in the development of this
PAFA Constitution in the early days of PAFA.
These amendments are listed as below:
5. Advisory Council (Addition
to the constitution after section 4 and before current
section 5 (Which will then become section 6)
The Executive Committee may nominate and seek consensus
from the members of PAFA during the AGM to elect an Advisory
Council for a period up to three years which will include
two to three senior members of PAFA or past Presidents
of PAFA.
a) The Advisory Council shall assist and
guide the PAFA Executive Committee on issues of strategic
importance considered to be in the best interest of PAFA
members
b) The PAFA Executive Committee shall be totally independent
for its day to day duties and decision making and have
the right to accept or reject the advice of the Advisory
Council
c) The Advisory Council may upon the request of the PAFA
Executive Committee shall act as an election commissioner
for PAFA election
d) The Advisory Council members shall not be members of
the current PAFA Executive Committee and shall not contest
any position during their term
12. Elections (Following
addition will be made to the current section 12. Elections
of PAFA constitution)
(f) To contest a position of President and Secretary,
a person must have been a member of the PAFA Executive
Committee for at least one year.
14. Amendments
Amend paragraph 14 (a) to read as
(a) The constitution may be amended only on the approval
of a 65% majority of members present at a General Meeting.
IF APPROVED THESE AMMENDMENTS WILL BE IMPLEMENTD FOR 2010/11
ONWARD
ELECTIONS 2009:
PAFA
election will be organised during this AGM. During this election
new PAFA executive committee will be elected through a democratic
election process.
